The house is in a
small hamlet of 4 houses on the edge of a forest, on the outskirts of a
village, between Saintes (20 mins) and Royan (25 mins). There are
beaches at Royan and a varied coastline to its north including dunes,
small villages with coves and a surfers paradise where the beach opens
up fully to the Atlantic. Also to the north is La Rochelle (50 mins) and
a little closer is Cognac (40 mins).
Worth a visit, Royan, La Rochelle, Saintes, Cognac, Gironde Estuary and of course, all of the
fabulous beaches along the Atlantic coast

The house: has 4 separate bedrooms, sleeping up to 9 people. There are 2 doubles and 2
twins, the larger of the twins has a 3rd pullout bed. There is a shower
room with shower, sink and toilet and a bathroom with bath with shower
over, sink and toilet. The property is ideally suited to two families
wishing to holiday together.
The kitchen has electric oven, gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher and
microwave – along with all the stuff you should need, and the
comfortably furnished lounge has satellite (free view) TV and a video
player – there are a number of films with it.
All of the rooms are on ground floor with no internal steps.

Outside:
The pool is 9m x 4.5m and is fitted with a safety alarm, so should
anything go in whilst it’s activated, you’ll know about it – this is
part of the French laws over pool safety. The pool is private, ie.e, for
those in the house.
The garden is mostly lawn (approx 2/3 acre) and has a number of fruit
trees and vines (help yourself if you time it right!) |

How to get there:
Nearest airports are Rochefort (30 mins drive), La Rochelle (50 mins), Bordeaux (1hr 20
mins)
It’s a 450 mile drive from Calais/Tunnel so plan on it taking 8 hours
with a couple of short breaks.
